Dr. Judy C. Ashcroft’s favorite quotation is “Excellence is the result of caring more than others think is wise, risking more than others think is safe, dreaming more than others think is practical, and expecting more than others think is possible.” With this mindset, she is herself a lifelong learner.
Judy’s undergraduate studies are in American Literature and Curriculum and Instruction; after careers in public and private school teaching and in corporations, she earned her doctorate in Higher Education Administration and has held increasingly responsible positions at Texas Tech University, University of Dayton, the University of Texas at Austin, and the University of South Florida. Judy served as a dean at UT and USF. After retiring, she has expanded her skill set to include teaching technology commercialization and leading a capital campaign.
Judy is often called upon to be a change agent and also to create new organizations; she finds these challenges irresistible. Judy enjoyed applying her experiences when she was President of the University Professional and Continuing Education Association during its time of transition. She continues her commitment to mentoring leaders, consulting, looking to the future, and always learning.
